Vasco da Gama presidential candidate Leven Siano has promised to secure Yaya Toure’s signature if supporters vote him into the Vasco office.
Recently, Toure was in the second tier of Chinese football for Qingdao Hunghai, his second club after cutting ties with Manchester City at the end of the 2017-18 season.
However, his potential may lie in Rio de Janeiro, according to Leven Siano. The attorney has backed up his promise with a video from the midfielder himself.
“I want to thank Leven for having me included in this project.” said Toure in a video uploaded on Leven’s Instagram page. “I can’t wait to see all the fans of Vasco very soon.”
Siano added: “Welcome, Mr Yaya Toure. Thank you for having trusted in our Vasco da Gama project. It’s going to be Vasco!”
Siano is currently campaigning to win the Vasco presidency, with the club set to hold their first direct elections in the year 2020 at a date yet to be determined.
Such promises help to build-up to polls.
