On Sunday, the European Football Union, UEFA, denied that a date had been set for the Champions League match between Juventus and Lyon.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas had said on Saturday that the Round of 16 match against Juventus will be played behind closed doors on 7 August in Turin.
“Nothing was decided, nothing at all,” a UEFA spokesperson told the German Press Agency, DPA, referring to the dates of the Champions League.
Due to the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), the League of the Champions was interrupted. Four Round-of 16 fixtures had already been played at the time, both at home and away.
Only one of the two matches had taken place in the remaining four cases including Juventus-Lyon. With Belgium’s Jason Denayer, Lyon won the game away by 1-0.
