A recent article suggested that Everton was leading the chase for Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Roma is still looking for his signature.
Roma and Everton are thus reported to be going head to head for the signing of the France Under-20 International during this summer’s transfer window.
The Italian outfit signed Carles Perez from the Catalan giants in January and is said to be planning to use their close partnership with the club to conclude a deal for Todibo.
The 20-year-old joined Barca from Toulouse in January 2019 but struggled to make his mark at Camp Nou, featuring Spanish champions on just five occasions.
Todibo joined Schalke 04 on a loan during the January transfer window and made seven appearances for the German outfit until the bulk of European football was prevented.
Barcelona, who does not appear to be signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar during this summer’s transfer window, seems to have a center-back tag of €25 m (£21.9 m).
