Southampton may reportedly be in a tough position during the next transfer window, where they may have to make several player sales.
The Daily Star suggests that owner Jisheng Gao is keen to find a buyer for the club’s 80 per cent stake, even though it means selling it at a cut-price fee.
If this does not materialize, it is rumoured this Southampton will have to collect funds by splitting some of their most valuable properties.
According to the report, some behind-the-scenes issues may lead to a number of key men being offloaded from the South-coast outfit.
Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse will all fall into that category, as will Ryan Bertrand who has just over a year left on his contract.
The Saints are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone with nine games left, placing the club in a good spot when it comes to maintaining their top-flight status.
However, if compelled to sell their players, they risk ruining this good run.
