Diego Simeone has given the management of Atletico Madrid one task this summer, and that is to bring him Thiago Almada.
According to AS, the young offensive midfielder of Velez, whom the Argentine media call the successor of the great Juan Roman Riquelme, has been targeted by Simeone to persuade him to join Atletico.
Simeone is delighted with the young player, so the management of Atletico sent an official offer of 22 million euros.
Almada is a 19-year-old offensive midfielder who has been a member of the cult Argentine club for ten years. At a much younger age, he joined his club’s seniors two years ago and almost immediately became a starter and their main player.
This season he has accumulated 25 appearances, five goals and two assists in all Almada competitions, and is currently a member of the Argentine U-20 team for which he has played seven games (one hit).
