It is alleged that the Italian Government has reaffirmed its position on the 14-day quarantine rule for Series A.
They insist on mandatory isolation of the entire team for two weeks in the event of a single positive test, despite protests from Series A clubs.
Series A is expected to resume on June 20, while on June 12 and 13, the Coppa Italia will restart football with the semi-finals’ return legs.
Now, in the case of a new positive result, the entire team will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine. This means that that club could possibly be entirely out of action for the immediate matches to follow.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports that following a meeting between FIGC President Gabriele Gravina and Health Minister Roberto Speranza, the quarantine decision set by the CTS remains in effect. The paper writes that the government has chosen to ‘follow the Technical and Scientific Committee’s decision.’
