Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly using rugby-inspired new studs to gain an additional advantage on the pitch.
CR7 believes that the change to his boots will get a stronger grip on the turf and allow him to run faster, according to Tuttosport and Sport Mediaset.
These are probably more than metal rubber studs, allowing for more flexibility and speed.
Wearing them is not entirely a new idea, as since 19 February Montpellier forward Andy Delort has already been using these studs. They seem to work, as Delort set a record in Ligue 1 by sprinting at 36.8 km/h for this season.
