Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez hopes for big things from Eden Hazard.
“Without a doubt, he will absolutely win the Ballon d’Or with Real Madrid,” Martinez told Cadena Ser. “I think fans of Real Madrid are confident and he will bring a lot of successes.”
Last week, Madrid returned for the first time in two months to their base in Valdebebas, despite most major sports across the globe postponed owing to the Covid-19 crisis.
Martinez admits that Hazard didn’t start as strong with Real, but will improve with time:
“Perhaps it takes a rough start at your new team to give everything you have inside to realize what playing in a fantastic team like Real Madrid is all about.
“Eden doesn’t lose games, he missed eighteen times in eight years with Chelsea and that was circumstantial. We already saw Eden with a lot of joy in his football with a wonderful connection with his team-mates in the game that was injured against Paris Saint-Germain.”
According to Martinez, thus, Hazard can win the Ballon d’Or at Real Madrid.
