Real Madrid is busy cleaning up the deadwood in their squad, as well as securing the players that they value most.
In the latter category is, without doubt, Casemiro, who has emerged as an important player for Real manager Zinedine Zidane. Casemiro has proved to be an effective shielding midfielder since his return to the club in 2015.
Mundo Deportivo today writes that the contract renovation for the midfielder has been “closed” and that all the terms of its extension have been agreed today. Indeed, it now sounds like he’s going to stay on Bernabeu a few more seasons.
That’s going to be a massive boost for the club, with the players now back in training and getting ready to play out the rest of this season – if all go to plan – start next month.
There may be a global pandemic going on but this summer it doesn’t seem like Real Madrid will slow down in the transfer market. Moreover, Los Blancos seem to be starting from the inside- by securing their star players first before looking for new ones.
