RB Leipzig wants to sign a permanent deal with Manchester City defender Angelino. However, its future with the player may depend on how the coronavirus pandemic affects football finances, Goal reports.
The Spaniard joined Leipzig on loan in January in a contract that involves a €30 m (£25 m) purchase option.
The Covid-19 pandemic is set to have a serious impact on players’ valuations, with Angelino likely to be available for less despite making a big impression in Germany during his short period.
So, the Bundesliga club, which also has on loan Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu and Roma forward Patrik Schick, is hoping to open negotiations to get him around half the cost of the initial agreement.
Angelino has played five matches for the Bundesliga and led Julian Nagelsmann’s team to the Champions League quarter-finals.
