Due to the financial consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, Real Madrid continues to be linked to the prolific French player, abandon Kylian Mbappe. But, it is now believed that Paris Saint-Germain would rather abandon Mbappe on a free contract in 2022 than sell it to Real Madrid on a cheap market this summer.
Mbappe scored 29 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season until the coronavirus shutdown last month. Mbappe’s value is estimated to have fallen from €200 m (£173.9 m) to €35 m (£30.4 m) as a consequence of the crisis, which is causing clubs to reconsider their transfer activity over the next few windows.
However, according to the Spanish AS source, there is no chance that Madrid will snap the 21-year-old on the cheap as PSG digs its heels in.
It is believed that the French giants have no intention of selling their valuable assets unless a significant bid is made, having seen its stock continue to grow since its arrival from Monaco in 2017 at £166 m.
