Real Betis allegedly made contact with Chelsea’s Pedro in an effort to sign an experienced attacker on a free transfer ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Roma are said to be making a move for Pedro, but according to Sport, Betis has also emerged as contenders for the signature of the Spaniard. The La Liga team managed to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon last summer and is said to have big plans on the market, having once again established itself as a top-flight side.
Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2015 and made 201 Blues appearances in all competitions, adding 43 goals and 28 assists in the process.
Nevertheless, the former Barcelona forward only scored two goals in the 18 appearances of this term, so he does not seem to be going further according to the plans of Frank Lampard.
The newly 32-year-old’s Stamford Bridge contract is set to expire at the end of June, which means that, as it stands, he will be available on a free transfer this summer.
