Mesut Ozil’s agent says the midfielder intends to see the rest of his current deal with Arsenal in full.
Ozil has played 23 times in all the Gunners competitions this season, but he scored just once while providing three assists.
Originally the German star agreed to sign his current deal in January 2018 making him the best-paid player in the club. His agreement is due to end after the 2020-21 season.
Ozil has been linked with a step away from the Emirates with the contract running down. The midfielder was also connected to Inter, AC Milan and clubs in China.
But his agent says Ozil doesn’t intend to leave, as he will stay at Arsenal to complete his reported £350,000 per week ($430,000) contract in the final year.
“Mesut has a one-year deal. That’s not going to change.” agent Erkut Sogut told beIN Sports. “So what comes next, time will reveal. Mesut will be 32 years old and will have a couple more years of his career.”
Regarding his future after this last year with Arsenal, Sogut says, “Mesut and his family are going to make a decision. I can’t talk about Mesut and Fenerbahce because I have no permission to comment about this issue in compliance with the concept of confidentiality.”
