Nottingham Forest is negotiating a new deal with head coach Sabri Lamouchi, reports.
The Frenchman signed a one-year contract last June as he was replacing Martin O’Neill at the helm. And since then he’s launched a promotion move taking the Reds to fifth in the Championship table until the coronavirus pandemic suspended the season.
The coach himself seems keen on staying. Lamouchi was surprised with his first experience of English football and talked earlier about his club passion. He said back in February:
“I’m glad to be here. I’ve been so delighted by the warm welcome from the fans right from the beginning. And I feel at home here every day, every week, every month. My dream is to stay here as long as possible, that’s all I can say”.
The new contract for Lamouchi runs out in end of June. However, having succeeded at the City Ground during his term, there is interest in keeping him long-term.
With the present situation, the campaign for the Championships is unlikely to be finished by that time. Lamouchi will remain on until the end of this term and talks on expanding his Trentside stay is continuing.
