Newcastle United reportedly named Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha as one of their key transfer goals should their planned takeover be completed.
The Eagles put a £60 m price tag on their star man in an effort to fend off interest, but the Daily Mail claimed that Newcastle would be willing to meet that asking price.
Zaha meanwhile has made no secret of his desire to leave the Palace for a larger club in recent windows. However, links to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have so far come to nothing.
27-year- old Zaha made 30 appearances for Palace this season, scoring three goals and making five more.
Zaha’s willingness to play soccer in the Champions League may be a possible obstacle, but Newcastle is aiming to name Mauricio Pochettino as the candidate for the top four in the coming years.
The Magpies are currently waiting for the approval of the Premier League for a takeover of over £300 m and, if this happens, they are supposed to undergo a massive overhaul this summer.
