Turkey’s TRT SPORT claims that former Dinamo Zagreb coach Nenad Bjelica is close to taking over Fenerbahce. This is the most serious confirmation so far that has surfaced in the Turkish media after reports of Turkey’s interest in the former Dinamo coach in recent days.
“A board meeting is expected soon. When this happens, the final decision will be made as soon as possible and then officially presented,” says the well-known Turkish sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncoglu. Bjelica, according to Turks, is the main candidate for the club’s first coach.
“Fenerbahce has offered a verbal offer to Bjelica. The club’s leaders are constantly on the phone with a Croatian expert. Bjelica believes that the presented conditions are satisfactory and that he can accept them,” writes Sabuncoglu, who specializes in events around this Istanbul club.
