Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved has recently revealed that Jose Mourinho had asked him to join their Treble-winning squad. However, despite his love for Mou, he couldn’t bring himself to join Inter Milan.
The conversation took place in the spring of 2009, when Mou had finished his first season in San Siro and Nedved was about to hang up his boots at Juve. Mourinho phoned the Czech star and urged him to reconsider his retirement, pledging that they could win the Champions League together.
“Jose knew I was terribly attracted by the Champions League prospects, because I would never have won, but his plan didn’t work,” Nedved told Tuttosport.
He says, however, “We couldn’t have been compatible. I’d have been following him to any club in the world but not to Inter. I couldn’t really do that.”
