Former Inter chairman Massimo Moratti has claimed that if Barcelona player Lautaro Martinez leaves the club Lionel Messi or Juventus frontman Paulo Dybala would be his choice for replacing the striker.
The former Nerazzurri is doubtful as to who he should put in as a backup. “If Messi arrives, awesome,” Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview.
Dybala, having recently recovered from the coronavirus and ready to play, is his second choice: “If it is difficult to sign Leo, then I would choose Dybala to take Toro’s (Lautaro’s) position.”
Barca’s curiosity in Lautaro has been well established for some time. The current Liga champions having placed the Argentine attacker at the top of their transfer wish-list with a view of recruiting the 22-year-old as the long-term successor to Luis Suarez at Camp Nou.
Apart from the budgetary issues caused by the Covid-19 crisis, the main problem in the minds of most citizens is to ensure the safety of teams, personnel and employees participating in matches.
