Speed has been the most destructive arsenal in the creative Kylian Mbappe’s armoury. Now, Ander Herrera officially validates this popular belief.
Kylian Mbappe is so quick that in a match with Usain Bolt, he makes his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates “feel like kids”, says Herrera in talks with.
Herrera sees the youngster as occupying the skill category, with the Spanish midfielder conceding the club peers may seem stupid in training sessions:
“Sometimes in training, it’s like playing with kids. He leaves you behind him in the way he runs and moves.
“It feels like we’re children, twelve years old, and he’s Usain Bolt. So when he’s in front of the goalkeeper, he’s got the power to pause, to get frozen, to score a ton of goals. That’s not easy.”
With over just 120 outings for PSG and Monaco, Mbappe also has a keen eye for the goal. This has helped him to score 90 times. Herrara say, “He’s got the balance of speed, intensity and composure to score goals. He might be the Ballon d’Or winner in 2025.”
Mbappe has ambitions to be regarded as the world’s best player. In light of Herrara’s praise, they seem well justified.
