Manchester United I likely to sign right-back teenager Marc Jurado from Barcelona after having reached a contractual agreement, Diario Sport reports.
The defender celebrated his 16th birthday just last month. The teenager had played this campaign for the Cadet A side of the club, and was due to be promoted next season to the Juvenil B team.
Jurado is set to arrive this summer at United with a fee of €1.5 m (£1.3 m) relative to the player’s development. He turned down the Catalan club’s offer for a contract extension and has a deal in place to move to England.
Jurado has played in the youth teams of the Blaugrana over the past nine years, but despite Barcelona promising to raise him through the ranks alongside an improved salary, the player will go to Old Trafford instead.
Over the years, Barcelona has lost a number of promising youth players, but they believed that last year’s contract extensions given to rising talent Ansu Fati and Ilaix Moriba turned the tide.
