It is confirmed that Manchester United approved the wish of Chris Smalling to stay in Roma.
To this end, they even lowered his offer price to €18 m. This would give the Giallorossi more chances to sign a long-term contract on Smalling.
He has made 28 competitive appearances this season for Roma, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Multiple sources have stated that the England International is pleased to remain in Serie A and wants to make the loan spell permanent.
For the 30-year-old, whose deal with Manchester United extends until June 2022, Roma found the €25 m price tag to be unfair.
The Old Trafford side is now able to reduce the selling price to €18-20 m according to Il Tempo newspaper.
