Manchester United may have attempted to bring Lazio striker Ciro Immobile to Old Trafford during the Transfer window this summer.
During the 2019-20 season, the Italy International was in brilliant form for his Italian side, scoring in 33 appearances 30 times, including 27 goals in just 26 Series A outings.
Immobile’s form this season sees him sitting second behind Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich in the European Golden Boot race, while he’s scored 116 goals in 167 appearances for Lazio since coming from Seville in 2016.
Recently, Everton has been most linked to the 30-year-old, which has a contract with the side of Simone Inzaghi until the end of the season 2022-23.
However, United is also currently exploring the possibility of signing the experienced striker this summer, according to Calciomercato.
During the lockdown era, Marcus Rashford has recovered from a back problem and will be fit for the United Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on June 19.
That leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with plenty of attacking options as the 20-time English champions are preparing to restart their season.
The report claims that the side of Solskjaer is still searching for a substitute for Romelu Lukaku despite succeeding in extending the loan deal of Odion Ighalo to January 2021.
