As with most of the planet, Argentina is officially in lockdown until at least May 10 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which ensures that meetings are not permitted. Manchester United will remind Marcos Rojo of his obligations- he had been seen violating these lockout laws in Argentina.
A picture shared on social media and later removed shows the centre-back playing poker and smoking with friends, reports the Goal. It is known that United will approach him and inform him about his duties, although it is possible that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take a negative opinion of the actions of Rojo.
With Harry Maguire’s emergence last summer, the 30-year-old dropped further down the pecking order and he intends to prolong his loan period at his childhood club after the season has been suspended owing to coronavirus outbreak. Rojo managed just nine appearances in all competitions since going on loan. The defender is on loan at Estudiantes until the end of the season.
“If it depends on me, I’ll talk to the management of Manchester United regarding the prospect of remaining here for another six months,” Rojo told Estudiantes Y Su Gente, a local radio programme.
Lockdown rules are still in force in England until at least 7 May and the Premier League is in continuing negotiations with the government about “Project Restart” in an attempt to determine the safest and quickest way to get football started again.
