Luke Shaw described colleague Aaron Wan-Bissaka as “the world’s best one-v-one goalkeeper” while supporting the cause for the latter to receive the 2019-20 Player of the Year award from Manchester United.
Shaw thinks that after proving to be a “superb signing”, Wan Bissaka deserves the honour.
“I can’t look past Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He is the most dynamic player of this season for me.” Shaw said to the official website of United. “You can see that Azza is improving every day and always wants to know more. He was a fantastic signing for us, and we like to have him in there.”
During his two-year stay with the Eagles, the 22-year-old indeed developed himself as one of the Premier League’s most reliable performers, and was able to pass that style to one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Shaw went on:
“If you look back at all the games we’ve played, I can remember just one mistake, the penalty at Watford. He’s been a solid eight out of ten in every other game he’s played, never gets his foot wrong, puts his foot in the right position every time. For me, he’s the world’s best one-v-one defender. No-one will get by him, he’s also very progressed on that side of his game and his side of attack.”
