The problematic of how to finish the 2019-20 season has been resolved. League Two clubs decided on a direct promotion.
The fourth-tier sides met at the conference call on Friday, and the PA News Agency reports that the clubs were in favour of three teams being directly promoted to League One. This would mean completing the play-offs to decide on one side to go up and not relegating any teams to the National League.
A point-by-game structure was debated, with any formal end of the season requiring a similar arrangement to be reached by League One, whose negotiations broke out earlier on Friday without a final outcome.
Any decision, however, would require the approval of the English Football League and the Football Association.
