The French newspaper Le Parisien claims that Paris Saint-Germain is leaving Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United because they feel that the demand price of Napoli is excessive.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Newcastle United have also been linked, but Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have always been favourites.
However, the Ligue 1 giants have now pulled out and are focusing on other targets, according to Le Parisien, as they believe the asking price for €70 m is excessive.
This is already a huge discount, given that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confessed last season that he turned down around € 100 m.
The defender is expected to leave San Paolo Stadium this summer, as at the age of 29, it is one of the club’s last opportunities to truly cash in on its most valuable player.
