La Liga plans to restart the 2019/20 campaign with the Sevilla derby being staged on June 12.
Sporting director Monchi from Sevilla has said: “There is no better way to get La Liga back than this derby. It will be another incentive, as we all look forward to the return of football and that first match will be magnificent.
“Spanish football has been suspended indefinitely since mid-March and stopped just before the scheduled Seville derby at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadiu in Sevilla.”
Diario AS confirms the first bout to be between Sevilla and Real Betis on Friday night of the 12th of June.
It builds on Cadena Ser’s initial report that the league plans to get the campaign back on track by mid-June and hopes to complete by the end of July the remaining 11 matches.
