Former Reds star Steve McManaman says Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to leave Liverpool by Bayern Munich.
“I think he just adores Liverpool and the Premier League,” McManaman told Daily Star Sport exclusively. “But you could see him returning to Germany to manage Bayern Munich.
“You wouldn’t rule out the way that club is run-and the way German managers are treated there.
“It looked as though Bayern were on their last legs a few years ago. But now they have a multitude of hungry youngsters along with the more seasoned players.”
Liverpool in the Premier League table are a staggering 25 points clear of Manchester City. Thus the Reds look poised to win their first championship since 1990 as football resumes next week.
Klopp has been in the hot seat in Anfield since 2015 and is a hugely popular Merseyside icon. However, McManaman has warned that eventually the German chief might be tempted to return to his homeland.
He may also move to Spanish pastures:
“Real [Madrid] is another scenario, they need to refresh their squad and bring in young players like Vinicius Junior-but they are not ready yet.”
However, “I’m not sure if Klopp has the desire to manage Real Madrid or Barcelona, but I don’t see why he should be going to La Liga.
“When Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo battled every week, they don’t have the aura they did. There’s all the politics with the board and players behind the scenes at Barca too.”
