Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi may soon be signed by Juventus, after having spent the 2019-20 season on the PSG loan after falling out with Inter. He scored 12 goals in his Ligue 1 time.
However, this is not as straightforward a buy-out as it appears. Juventus is indeed interested in getting the 27-year-old back to Serie A next season, but they do not plan to bargain with Inter’s rivals, as per a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
What’s more, they plan on taking him on only if Paris Saint-Germain signs him permanently first. Juventus needs PSG to take advantage of the £57m opportunity to pick Icardi on a full-time basis, before negotiating terms with the French club on a potential trade contract.
The report also indicates that Miralem Pjanic and Alex Sandro will be offered champions of the Ligue 1 in exchange for Icardi, who has also emerged as a priority for Atletico Madrid.
