Reports in Italy say that Juventus is working on alternatives if a swap deal with FC Barcelona that includes Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic doesn’t come off.
Tuttosport reports that Juve is also keen on Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain and Jorginho from Chelsea, with Pjanic as a bait in both deals as well. This is in case they cannot secure Melo.
Pjanic, 30, wants to move to Barça from Turin but Arthur, 23, isn’t interested in going in the other direction. The Brazilian has made it clear that he would like to stay at Camp Nou with Barcelona.
According to the reports, Arthur is the preferred option for the Italian side, but instead his desire to stay at Barça might force them on to Paredes or Jorginho.
Barça is keen to offer other players for Pjanic, but Juve’s needs are not met by Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal. They want to take on a bigger role for Rodrigo Bentancur and want Arthur, a younger player, to play alongside him.
