Paris Saint-Germain and Inter have completed negotiations on the transfer of Mauro Icardi.
Icardi played 20 games in the French league jersey for PSG and scored 12 goals, and scored five goals in six appearances in the Champions League.
Mauro Icardi’s loan to PSG ends this summer. Inter were not really interested in keeping him, nor did he want to return to Inter, and PSG wanted him to leave Inter permanently. With all these components combined, it was clear that an agreement between the stakeholders was likely.
And, as predicted, Inter and PSG have reached an agreement on his transfer to PSG. An agreement was reached on a little more than 50 million euros plus another seven million euros bonus.
Icardi had a buyout clause of 70 million euros in the loan agreement, but after the current crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it was to be expected that the price would be lower…and it did!
The Parisians still have to agree on the details of the negotiation with Icardi. Given that he pointed out that his wish is to stay in Paris, this should still be an easier part of the job regardless of Wanda Nara’s negotiating capabilities.
