Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz set a new Bundesliga record against Freiburg on Friday with his match-winning goal.
The 20-year-old rushed forward to catch the return pass after flicking the ball onto Leon Bailey and slotted past Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow to round off an outstanding team move.
The goal was Havertz’s 35th in the Bundesliga since his 2016 debut and he’s the first player to hit that tally before being 21 years old.
He has been the most successful player in the top five leagues in Europe during this calendar year, scoring nine goals and assisting four times.
He is also closing in on the top ten scorers of all time at Leverkusen.
