Gareth Bale of Real Madrid has announced that he will be able to move to the MLS in the near future.
Bale has scored 105 goals in 249 appearances since the arrival of Los Blancos, and the 30-year-old will see his current contract at Bernabeu come to an end in 2022. The former Tottenham Hotspur man, however, managed only 14 appearances in Spain’s top flight this season.
The Welshman has been the subject of intense rumors about his future at Bernabeu, even though the La Liga giants are apparently ready to keep Bale in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
Bale, however, has other plans. He has eyes for MLS. Speaking at The Hat-Trick Podcast, Bale said, “I really like the league, it’s evolved so much over the years.”
Further praising MLS, he says, “When we come over and play in pre-season the games are difficult, it’s a league that’s on the up and still rising. A lot more players want to come to America now. I would definitely be interested in it.”
