Paris Saint-Germain perseveres in its decision to continue PSG’s Champions League appearances, even after the French government decided that French teams would not play the French championship due to the coronavirus pandemic until September.
Just few hours after the declaration by competent French authorities that the French championship was cancelled this season, PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi told for RMC Sport that he respected but would insist that the French champion would continue on his way to the Champions League, even if he had to play home games outside France.
“We respect the decision of the French authorities. In agreement with UEFA, we intend to continue to participate in the Champions League final, at the time and place where it will be organized. If it is not possible to play in France, ours will be ours to play matches abroad, with the conviction that we will place our players and all staff in the best possible health conditions,” said Al Khelaifi.
PSG eliminated Borussia in the eighth finals Dortmund placed among the eight best teams in Europe where Atalanta, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid still stand, until the four finals of the eighth finals have yet to be finalized. The quarter-finals draw was postponed until further notice.
