The Football Association has charged Eric Dier with violence over a fan conflict during Tottenham’s fifth-round FA Cup game with Norwich.
“Eric Dier has been charged with improper behavior for a breaking FA Rule E3,” read a statement from the Football Association.
Following last month’s penalty shootout defeat by Tottenham, Dier climbed into the stand and appeared to come into conflict with supporters.
The complaint against Dier is non-standard, and no specific punishment for the charge has been given, only stipulating that: ‘Eric Dier shall provide a response until Friday 8 May 2020.’
The statement goes on, “It is claimed that the actions of the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder against Norwich City FC at the end of the Emirates FA Cup game on Wednesday 4 March 2020 is unacceptable and/or offensive.”
