The finals of the German Football Cup will be play on July 4 in Berlin without spectators. The dates of the semi-final trials have also been postponed- they will be played on June 9 and 10.
“This variant is the best. We all hope to experience great matches again next season in full arenas and in the stadiums of amateur clubs that make this competition so unique,” said DFB President Fritz Keller.
The German Football Association (DFB) announced a tentative new date for the final. Initially, the DFB had set the final as scheduled for May 23. However, it was postponed to early July due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Defending champion Bayern and 2018 winner Eintracht will meet in the semi-finals, while Bayer Levekusen and quarter-finalist Saarbrucken will compete in the second match.
The German Bundesliga continues on May 16. All Bundesliga matches will be play without spectators.
