It is speculated that Valencia may welcome back its skilled player David Silva, currently filling the role of Manchester City midfielder.
Silva is said to be in talks with the former side of Valencia regarding a potential return to La Liga this summer, when his deal with Etihad comes to an end in June. The midfielder has already confirmed leaving Etihad.
ESPN revealed that the 34-year-old had been in touch with Valencia on his return to Mestalla, and the Spanish offered Silva a three-year contract. This move would benefit Spain, with Current Spain International having scored three goals and seven assists in 19 Premier League appearances this term.
The alleged move has been complicated due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with concerns emerging from players whose contracts could expire before the end of the season. As a result, it is speculated that Silva will either have to briefly prolong his deal with Pep Guardiola’s side to finish the season or leave mid-season when his contract expires on 30th of June.
Before ESPN’s report, it was believed that David Beckham’s MLS Inter Miami would be a probable destination for Silva. AC Milan and Juventus were also credited with interest.
Any league would eventually be fortunate to have 34-year-old Silva, who has scored 73 goals in 423 appearances for the citizens since he arrived in 2010.
