Chris Wilder says that he would accept the preferences of any player who may not feel confident returning to football following the coronavirus pandemic.
“If any player makes the decision and come to me saying it’s not for me, I’d appreciate that,” Wilder, manager of Sheffield United, said to BeIN Sports.
With the Bundesliga scheduled to return on May 16 and the Turkish Super Lig expected to follow suit in June, it appears even more probable that the Project Restart of the Premier League will finally come to life with a return to match action.
The Blades are seventh in the table and Wilder admits his team is keen to end the season, but not so much because of their own outstanding effort. However, a variety of clubs have been recorded to diminish their resistance to attempts to restart the season, in case relegation from the division is taken off the table.
Players have obviously been divided by their own opinions on the subject. Some of them have spoken about their wish to get back onto the field but others spoke personal and their families’ safety more important.
