During the next meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee on 17 June, a decision regarding the location for the Champions League Final is expected.
Istanbul was supposed to host the Final before the coronavirus pandemic swept across Europe forcing a suspension of all the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press and Calcio e Finanza point to Lisbon, Munich and Geneva, while Frankfurt is added to the candidates by German newspaper Bild.
According to these reports, if Istanbul isn’t suitable, Lisbon, Munich, Frankfurt and Geneva are alternative options.
The idea now is to play the Champions League and the Europa League in August, potentially in one country as a Final Eight or Final Four contest format to minimize travel.
