Juventus may have given Manchester United the opportunity to sign Federico Bernardeschi as part of the agreed contract for Paul Pogba during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve is preparing to sell Bernardeschi to the 20-time English champions as part of their attempts to lower Pogba’s price.
Bernardeschi, who has also recently been linked to Barcelona, has contributed just one goal and one assist to the Old Lady’s 24 appearances during the 2019-20 season. The 26-year-old has been a key player for the Italian champions since arriving in Turin, although he has scored nine times in all competitions on 94 occasions.
On the other hand, the speculation surrounding Pogba’s future continues to pick up the pace, and it was recently reported that the United would be open to the possibility of a midfielder swap agreement ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Real Madrid has long been credited with an interest in Pogba, but a recent report suggested that the Spanish giants had lost their interest in the 2018 World Cup winner.
With both these players simultaneously available to the transfer market, Juventus and Manchester United may just be able to secure a swap.
