Bayern Munich director Oliver Kahn has supported the club’s decision to recruit Alexander Nubel.
However, he claimed that the goalkeeper will be loaned out as the summer transfer window opens. Kahn says that, for the time being, Nubel would have to carry on a job as a back-up keeper.
“Nubel will first arrive in Munich and acclimate. Anything else can then be seen. For the boy, this is nothing but an easy situation,” the Bayern great told Sky 90 about the switch for the Schalke star from the team. “There is nothing better than having two excellent goalkeepers.”
Nonetheless, he confirms that the player was recruited in the long term to replace Neuer between the sticks:
“At the moment it was a wise choice.
“He’s taking a path-embracing the condition with Manuel Neuer and lining up behind him and eventually becoming number one.”
