A few weeks ago, Barça confirmed in the first PCR check that nobody had tested positive. However, five Barça players and two Technical Team members carried the coronavirus in their day, according to RAC1.
Most of them are probably asymptomatic old cases, detected in the first phase of serological research. But now they are fully eligible to return to competition.
For now, this Monday, June 1, the Barça squad will train again in groups of up to 14 players, with the novelty of doing so. This is attributable to the versatility of the Superior Sports Council sanitary policy. After all, there are just nine days left before the return of football to Spain.
In related Barça news, Leo Messi remains at Barça for at least one more year. The Argentine has missed the chance this summer to leave for free at some other club. The clause in his contract specifying this expired on Sunday, May 31.
Nonetheless, Barça was persuaded of the continuity of Messi. Now the job is to renew the contract, as his contract will expire next year in June.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister Salvador Illa will meet electronically with Leo Messi, Sergio Ramos, Koke and Parejo this Tuesday morning. Illa needs to learn firsthand the experiences of the four captains of Barça, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and Valencia respectively.
