Barcelona is considering a swap deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz, according to a source.
Havertz had another outstanding season with Leverkusen and is believed to be on the radar of several clubs around Europe. Liverpool and Manchester United were both linked, but Bayern Munich is believed to be leading the chase for the 20-year-old.
German outlet Sport1 indicates, however, that Barca could contend with Bayern for Havertz, having already made initial contact with Leverkusen.
The Catalan giants are unable to equal the Bundesliga club’s almost nine-figure value, thanks to the lack of income caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Nevertheless, it is believed that Barca could sell a few players and a smaller sum of cash to the international Germans. Emerson Leite, Carles Alena and Marc Cucurella are said to be the players Barcelona is prepared to swap for Havertz to join the company.
