The agent of Gareth Bale has effectively denied the Real Madrid attacker will return to the Premier League during the transfer window this summer.
“He has a very nice lifestyle. I don’t see why he doesn’t see his career out at Madrid probably,” Barnett told BBC Sport. “As I’ve always said, he’s quite happy in Madrid.
“It’s his life that he wants to lead. Financially, he will want for nothing the rest of his life, and his children and grandchildren. He’s won nearly everything in the world, except the World Cup, but unfortunately, he plays for Wales so some things are beyond him.
“So, he’s won everything else, to come back and play [in the Premier League] would be unbelievable – a big thing. I don’t think he wants to do that at the moment. He’s quite happy to play at Real Madrid.”
Bale has won one title in La Liga, one Copa del Rey and four trophies in the Champions League with Madrid, where he has a contract until the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
However, the 30-year-old has scored just three times in 18 games for Los Blancos over the current season, and there is still intense uncertainty about the future of the Wales international.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all been linked with possible moves ahead of the 2020-21 campaign for the former Southampton left-back.
Despite all this, Jonathan Barnett, Bale’s representative, claimed the attacker is not currently interested in returning to English football and could “see his career in Madrid.”
