Manchester United has allegedly moved closer to securing the signing of midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
Saul has made 34 starting places this season in La Liga and the Champions League.
United has recently been linked to a 25-year-old approach, despite suggestions that they may prioritize attack-minded players later in 2020.
A deal taking Saul to Old Trafford is ‘practically done’ according to Todo Fichajes, with confirmation expected at the end of the campaign.
Despite the player having a long-term contract, which has a £132 m release clause, Atletico has been suggested to cash in on the Spaniard during the next transfer window.
Also, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are aware that they need to balance the books. So, the report adds, that Atletico is prepared to accept a £70 m offer.
