Arsenal’s No.1 keeper Aaron Ramsdale will remain so for the time being. The 24-year-old Englishman has signed a new contract in North London. The number two in the Premier League has not announced the length of the contract, but only reports that it is a long-term contract.
Salary doubling for Arsenal goalkeeper who has re-signed
The Daily Mail reports almost immediately after the news became public that it is a four-year contract, so until mid-2027, although there are also stories that the contract is even valid until 2028. For Ramsdale it would be a lucrative deal: the tabloid believes that Ramsdale sees his salary doubled. From now on, the closing post of The Gunners would see a small 140,000 euros appear in his bank account every week.
Ramsdale and Arsenal are having their best season in years. After competing for the national title for a long time, Mikel Arteta’s team will almost certainly have to settle for second place. That does mean we’ll see Arsenal back in the Champions League for the first time since 2017, and Ramsdale played his part by not missing a minute in the Premier League.
The three-time international of England responds to his employer’s website. “I feel a lot of pride now, this is what you work for. This means I can concentrate, hopefully in a few years I will get another contract and continue living my dream at the club,” he said.
Ramsdale, the first Englishman to be first-choice under the bar of the thirteen-time champion of England since David Seaman, has a long way to go before passing the club icon in the number of games played for the club. Seaman finished at 564 appearances, Ramsdale is at 76.
Bale overjoyed after first on the golf course
We turn our focus to yet another British footballer. Who made a name for himself in North London albeit several years ago. After ending his career as a professional footballer, Gareth Bale can be found on the golf course with great regularity. He hit his first hole-in-one in San Diego, USA.
The Welshman celebrated that as if he were reliving his goals in the Champions League final. Even when he was still in Madrid’s service, golf was already a serious hobby for Bale. It brought him criticism all the time.
Not that the lightning-fast Bale cared much about that. He even liked to poke fun at it from time to time. When he was out with Wales he liked to be photographed with a banner stating his priorities. Wales, golf, Madrid. And then in that order.
