Arsenal allegedly ruled out the possibility of lending Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid for the second season.
The Gunners are said to have hoped to hold on to the 23-year-old until the end of the season, when he must return to Real.
However, according to El Confidential, Mikel Arteta’s side does not plan to keep Ceballos on the books for the 2020-21 campaign.
Ceballos is due to return to Madrid when his loan arrangement at the Emirates expires in June. The report argues that the midfielder is eager to persuade Zinedine Zidane that he deserves a daily spot in Los Blancos’ first XI, but the real boss is not persuaded.
Ceballos has amassed 24 appearances at all of the Arsenal competitions this season, scoring one goal and two assists at that time. The Spaniard has made 14 Premier League appearances for the Gunners since arriving on a seasonal loan last summer. The player saw his playing time cut by a hamstring injury.
