Arsenal have extended Bukayo Saka’s contract. The attacker signs a new and much improved contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal comes with a reward for Saka
That is not surprising, because Saka’s extension has already been announced several times in the English media. Arsenal rewards him for his strong development and contribution this season. Saka was responsible for thirteen goals and eleven assists in 37 Premier League games this season. According to the English media, Saka will now earn fifteen million pounds a year. Converted, that is more than seventeen million euros.
Saka still had a contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2024. Three years have now been added: until 2027. It is certain that Arsenal will in any case be assured of a much higher transfer fee if the Londoners decide to sell Saka. As far as we know nothing concrete is going on.
“It is great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talents is key to our progress and Bukayo represents a very important part of our team. Now and in the future,” said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Saka was on his way to the league title with Arsenal this season, but at the end of the season the club was overtaken by Manchester City, who became champions of England last weekend.
De Zerbi has no doubts about Veltman’s future
Speaking about contract extensions in the Premier League, Roberto De Zerbi does not want to know anything about Joël Veltman’s summer departure from Brighton & Hove Albion. The defender now has an expiring contract, but De Zerbi is convinced that this will soon change.
Veltman made the switch from Ajax to Brighton in the summer of 2020 and has played 104 games for his English employer so far, 91 of which in the Premier League. When De Zerbi stepped in in September, he called him one of his most important players. The successor to Graham Potter let Veltman participate in 33 duels under his leadership so far.
Veltman’s expiring contract includes an option for an additional year. However, according to local media, there is talk of a new commitment. The Zerbi is clearly counting on a good outcome. “Joel will be here next year, 100 percent,” the Brighton coach said at his press conference on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s league game against Manchester City.
